Unfassbar, gestern zum ersten Mal diesen großen Klassiker gesehen. GANZ großes Kino. Tragisch und dramatisch wie sonst kaum ein Film, zum Ende braucht man die Taschentücher eigentlich gar nicht mehr beiseite legen. Und so schön gespielt.

SOWAS wird HEUTE gar nicht mehr gemacht. Die Ästhetik der 1980er steht diesem Meisterwerk gut zu Gesicht. Gar nicht auszudenken, dass"The Thorn Birds" in diesen Videoclip-geprägten Zeiten produziert werden würde. Bestimmt nicht mit soviel Ruhe und Liebe zum Detail und unzähligen Dialogen, die zum Nachdenken anregen. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass ein Mann mit so überirdisch filigranen Zügen wie Richard Chamberlain noch keinem Film geschadet hat.
